Colle Sant’Alfonso and Church of Saint Michael

Free entry
Colle Sant’Alfonso is one of Torre del Greco’s most beautiful viewpoints. Located on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, it is home to the Church of Saint Michael and offers spectacular views over the Bay of Naples.

Colle Sant’Alfonso, also known as the Camaldoli hill, is one of Torre del Greco’s most evocative destinations. Located on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, it is a place where nature, spirituality and panoramic views come together.

At the top of the hill stands the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, a historic church first connected with the Camaldolese order and later with the Redemptorist Missionaries. The complex has a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, far from the traffic of the town centre.

The real highlight is the view: from here, visitors can enjoy wide views of the Vesuvian coast, the Bay of Naples and, on clear days, the islands. It is an ideal place for a quiet break, a photographic walk or for discovering a lesser-known side of Torre del Greco.

Colle Sant’Alfonso is recommended for travellers who enjoy landscapes, places of worship and experiences away from the busiest tourist routes.
